a few short sentences

Keri left an msn msg last nite commenting that I had not updated my blog for sometime.

Yep, no mood..no time..

Alot of blog posts saved as drafts..

I want..i want...

I feel as if I am fighing a war at work, or maybe I am the only one to feel this way.

Sometimes I think I expect too much of myself, and that there should always be a time to stop and relax, smell the roses. It's going to be the end of the year, for goodness sake. And next year, another year older. The older I am, the more money I need. Sigh.

And one thing bugs me and makes me miserable at work.
I want my own space.
I just want a computer of my own, why is that too much to ask?

What do I want from Christmas?

Work-wise - brand new computer. Amen!!!!

The Skeptic's guide to the Paranoramal

Can a human being really spontaneously burst into flames? Just how deadly is the Bermuda Triangle? And what’s the real story behind all those alien abductions?
The answers to these and many other questions lie within the covers of The Skeptic’s Guide to the Paranormal. Guaranteed to liven up any dinner party, this delightful, highly readable book offers color photographs and scientific case-by-case explanations for twenty-seven phenomena that appear to defy known science, including ghosts and poltergeists, the predictions of Nostradamus, and yogic levitation, among many others.

Speaking directly to the reader, and always with respect for those who believe, Kelly gives us a bite-size, nonacademic approach to debunking hugely popular superstitions and mysteries. Did you know that you, too, can bend spoons and read minds? This book will show you how.

One of the books I loaned from library recently..it's surprisingly interesting although unfortunately i din get to finish some parts of the book because it's past the due date. =P

Some of the topics that might piques my attention...the loch ness monster, bermuda triangle, spontaneous human combustion, alien abductions and sightings, past lives, walking on hot coals and the shroud of Turin. (i am esp interested in the last topic bcos it's my first time knowing such a thing exists..and i ask two christian friends who told me christians among themselves were divided as to whether it's genuine..hmm..? is it really true?)

Halloween nite out

Was planning to go Sentosa Spooktacular last sat with Carrie, her bf and Benny.
But when we reached vivocity, the tickets were all sold out, boo hoo!

The website never said anything abt tickets being limited too..letting us make a wasted trip there..so disappointing...thought can have some good scares.

Since we were alry at vivocity, we might as well go to the nearest entertainment, Dragonfly.

Wow, it's been like a yr plus since i stepped into any such establishment..
The singers were not bad, all the waiters dressed up as chinese vampires..u know, those that goes hop, hop in old chinese horror shows.

There were quite a lot of people dressed up as vampires, school girls, wolferine, angels..including the singers and musicians on stage.

Overall, it's a good experience..slept at 5am tat nite..haven slept this late in a long while.. =)

pictures of my babies

okie, so these are our two spanking new bicycles!

His..

And mine...

I am quite proud of my own bike because it looks so ladylike, hehe.
Wah, I feel like i given birth to them..

But unfortunately, got this incident really dampens our spirits for the past 1 wk plus.

There happens to be an asshole living in benny's condo who has a habit of bursting all the bicycle tyres in the carpark.

Benny's bicycle tyre also got punctured 3 times while mine was punctured once.

Makes me freaking pissed when i think of it..the nearest bicycle shop is about half an hour away k, and we had to walk all the way with the bicycle.

Benny very poor thing, he had to walk 3 times there in a wk..
Fixed alry, 2nd day punctured again.
Fixed AGAIN, then the day before his bd, he discovered it's punctured again.
Just before we left for his bd celebration in jb too! ...waliew..mood nearly gone.

We, plus all the irate residents who also got their tyres punctured complained to the security office, but even thought the security guards go on petrol every one hr (or so they claimed), they haven't been able to catch the culprit.

I am guessing it's a teenager doing this for the thrill, and he shall be so further thrilled with a good, tight kick in the balls from yours truly.

That is, if I find out who he is.

Benny and i, we are both vengeful people.

Him: I hope he go and die.

(a moment later)

Him: I changed my mind. No need to die la, maybe just the let the hand tat punctured the tyre rot and fall off can already.

Me: Oh...i hope his son/daughter gets born without an asshole.

As i said, we r both vengeful people.

a new spectacle cloth for me

This silly boy came over to my work place after his half day at work just to give me this.

In case you don't know what this is, which I am sure you don't, this is a spectacle cloth.
Hmm all my old specs cloth certainly do not have any pictures imprinted on them..this is so cute.

He says to throw away my old specs cloth and use this instead.
Sometimes..he does the weirdest sweet things..

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs

Watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D.
Din know that 3D costs much more, $13 for each person.

While it was fun because it was our first time, I don't tink I would want to try it again.
Reason being the googles were quite uncomfortable..can't get used to it.

But the movie itself was not bad, the climax kept me glued to the seat and the ending was sweet. =)

New bicycles, yeh!

It took me and Benny 3 days before we could find suitable ones.

1st day
- Rushed down to AMK after our work on Friday.
(have to apologize to my colleague Belinda who ask me out for hotpot a few days bfore, and after tons of dilly-dally, I still went out with bf instead. Shd slap myself in the face..where is my independence? *smack myself in the face*)

We took a bus from AMK even..only to know upon reaching there that there are no bikes that are within our bike range..they only sell high-end ones...sigh...was so pissed.

Lesson: You should always check out if they have your budget range bfore heading down.

2nd day
- Went down to IMM where Giant was, supposedly they have a good range of bikes. But no, most of their bikes belonged to a brand that had quite bad reviews online. Disappointed again.

3rd day - Went down to a bike shop at Sembawang, and finally! Now Benny and I are the proud owners of two pretty bicycles. Both are the same brand but his is a mountain bike while mine is a ladies bike. Both are in the $200+ range and are both paid by me..cos I am giving Benny the bicycle as his birthday pressie..so that's it.

NO restaurants, foodcourts all the way.
But I am quite looking forward to the cycling part!
We shall save on transport and the enviroment!

Just to share, I got a bad fall on my bicycle yesterday nite though..scraped my leg and a finger badly with bleeding. To top it off, the bicycle landed on top of me.

Yep, my first bicycle ride and I was more concerned about whether the bike had any scratches.

Sticky notes encouragement

I have been told countless times that my work desk looks like a tornado prone area with papers and junk strewn every other direction.

So finally I cleared my desk after more than half a year worth of hints, and when I came to work the next morning these two sticky notes were stuck to my moniter...cute! =)

Granted, it's still not as neat..but I am on my way there slowwwww-ly....

clearing out my wallet

Recently my colleagues have commented that my wallet was very bulky, and by a stroke of co-incidence(?) my bf happens to think so too.

But he went one step further, he helped me to clear out my junk!
Can u believe all this is in my wallet? Can't believe it...

A very bad scare

Last nite I had the one of the biggest scare of this year. It goes like this:

The rest of the family were not at home, save for Benny and me.

It was around 2am and I was watching some drama serials while he was sleeping.

In the middle of the drama serials, I went to the bathroom in the kitchen and also to take some water.

The moment I came out of the kitchen and turned right to walk to my room, I saw this figure standing sideways right in front of me.

It was standing up facing the wall, it's head hanging down...

I tell u, my heart nearly stopped.

I can't even control myself from opening my mouth and emitting a shrill scream.

Me: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Benny: (turning his head groggily towards me and in a pissed off tone) Why you shout so loud?

Me: (screaming my head off for another 2 seconds)

Neh neh..Even though my mind already registered him, but the signal wasn't sent to my mouth yet.

After that, I realized he was standing on the weighing machine that was put just next to the wall and he was looking down at his weight.

I ask u, who wakes up from his sleep and goes silently to the living room to weight himself in the middle of the night??!!!

And I thought it was a......................

After that he apologized to me lots of times while I hyperventilated and gasp for the next ten minutes with tears running down, while I tried to explain to him why I was so terrified.

I didn't even hear him open the room door...how can....next time must give me ample "notice" k?

"Happy" mooncake festival

Feeling abit lonesome now. Mum is with my niece in the living room and there are nobody else. Usually, sis will return at this time but then she is currently in Switzerland for holiday(so envious of her!)

Now its just us and my music. That's the reason why I like a big family in future, more fun and laughter to go around. Granted it takes a little fortune to have kids..today is mooncake festival, yet it is raining in the evening. Din manage to see anybody carrying lanterns, such a spoiler. And to tink Benny and I wanted to go buy lanterns, look at the moon and eat mooncake..haizz.

Nevertheless, I did eat two pieces of mooncake in the comfort of my own home.
Happy mooncake festival guys.

A City With No People ( from CHOBITS)

Been watching this for the last few days at home.
My quiet time.
My secondary classmate burned the entire series for me more than a decade ago, but as somehow there was some problem with the discs so din manage to watch it till now..

Not bad, the first few episodes were quite funny.
Do try watching it if you have the time.
The part where it grabs me most..A city with no people.
Watch it if you want to know what it means. =)

A person's heart changes a little bit everyday...

...because that is their nature.

It can be different.

It doesn't always have to be the same.

If he...

...finds in me the things that make me special.

If he likes me because I am me.

If that person...

...takes the time to find what makes me different from the others...

If he likes me because I am me...

...if that happens...

...we may be able to become something a little different from before.

This feeling inside of me...

...is very soft.

But sometimes it hurts.

I become full of this feeling when I think of that person.

'Do you feel that way about everybody?'

No, only when I think of that person.

'What happens when you're with that person?'

I get warm...

..like I'm glowing inside.

The glow inside is brightest when that person is near...

...and the pain inside hurts more when he is away.

I am happiest when I think about that person...

...I am saddest when I think about that person.

That person makes all my feelings more intense.

If my heart is this warm...

...if I can be this happy...

If we can all find that special person...

...then the world will be a most joyous place.

Then...
..this city...
...will have no unhappy people.

It's the special city that has...

...the someone just for me.

Happy birthday to my sister~

Today is my sister's birthday!
Shiok rite? Having a birthday falling on a public holiday...

Had earlier arranged with Benny to go to one of my colleague's place for Hari Raya lunch with the rest of the colleagues, but last nite sis told me that bro can only make it for lunch as he is accompanying his wife back to her hometown Segamat. So too bad...and I din get to see someone's botak head too...

So for sis's birthday, the family had lunch at Soup Restaurant. The bill was splited between Benny and me. Din buy any present for her cos she can buy anything she wants..She is going Switzerland for a trip soon..so envious... am glad I had a chance to give a treat cos my sister was usually the one who treated us on all occasions.

The birthday cake..

My sister and niece

Family pics...my niece's pose very funny haha

We cut the birthday cake after lunch, and headed over to Swensens for a free birthday ice-cream. =)

Home from work on a sunday :(

I got home from work earlier then expected..but then it's besigned with disappointment.
Turns out he had planned to give me a surprise by turning up at my work place, but he was all dressed and ready to go when he received a call from me tat I was on the way home.
I would have been very touched..
He was really lucky tat I chosed to call him when I did..hahaha. Sigh.

Some stuff cropped up at work that I am terribly unhappy and worked up about.
But bf advice is the best, and I promise him I will not let it affect me further.
He is right, you know.
Why should I let someone who is neither my fren nor someone I care about affect me at all?
It's very tiring to care about every single one who has misconceptions about you or worst still, judges you for what they think you are.
Work is work, after all.
And unfortunately, that's life.

It is at this time that I really thank my frens and loved ones who accept me for ME. :)
Thank you all!

sourcing around

I passed by this music school today in causeway point and went in to check if they have flute lessons. They do, but the days they are giving lessons are the ones that I need to work late. This is getting frustrating, because somehow all the courses I want to take up happens to be on the days I can't make it.

Anyway I was asking the sales person, will it be more difficult for me to play the flute if I have thick lips. The reason I asked was because I used to be in a military band in secondary school and I was an alto saxophonist. When we first joined the band, the teacher had us lined up one by one and studied our lips before assigning us to our instruments.

So from my observations, all the fellow saxophonists had thick lips like mine, whereas flutists generally have pretty thin lips. So from that time onwards, I always had this view that shape of your lips affects the type of instruments that you can play. And I tried playing a flute before when I was in the band(borrowed for fun from the flutists) and no sound came out, haha.

Hmm, but the sales person told me no, it doesn't influence at all. It must have seemed a funny question, but I have my basis for asking.

But now I did a search online and it seems that having thinner lips will aid your progress in learning to play the flute as they will find it easier to control the high notes. So that's why...

Anyway a beginner's flute will cost $500. So it's time to save up, unless I can get a cheap deal from auctions or places like cash converters. I love music.

Recovery

At his place now.
Now we just finished our dinner and lounging about.
He is much better now and back to his smug self.

But yesterday he was like a dead tortise, that's a fast recovery hor?

Come here still have to help him scratch his back.
My charge is $50/min! :P

One boring Friday morning at work

See, I had a new phone.
And I discovered a world I never know.
Things like, I can actually upload songs to my hp..!
Or select my ringtone from songs stored in my hp..
And all these years, I was wondering..

And because I was wondering aloud to my colleagues, they went to the trouble of showing me the extent of their astonishment...

My colleague Bryan who is a part-time and a hoot-ter.

Another part-timer Belinda, an innocent girl who has since gone to further her studies.

This is a cute bear in our office. Not mine, unfortunately.

They disfigured the poor bear.

Bear: %^$#$Y^$%$@!!

More pics of Sandra

She looks like a baby Jay Chou in this get-up huh?
I think she looks totally adorable in this get-up!

He has fallen sick today, I hope he is going to be fine after tonite..

New Fossil Bag, he's the best!~

Saw this bag in Cleo recently and I even pointed out to him that this is the kind of bag I liked, but at that point of time I din know that it was from Fossil la. So the next weekend, we were shopping in Ion and this bag was beckoning me right from the Fossil shop!

A few days later...

Me: Hey, I really liked the bag from Fossil le.
Him: How much is it?
Me: $xxx
Him: Ok, I buy it for you if you hit your sales target as a reward.
Me: But by that time, maybe they don't have any stock anymore...
Him: Ok, I buy for you tomorrow.

And now, I am happy to say that I already hit the sales target today(yayy!).

Money, I need lots of it

Money money money! These few weeks I have been engrossed in making more money. Although you can't take it to your grave, but I don't even think I have any left to take it to my grave anyway after I paid off my debts.

I have my outstanding insurance premiums of hundreds, my hp bills of $300+ (more than the cost of my hp, bloody hell)which I accumulated in that one week Perth holidy, plus some of the money loaned from my aunt for the spending expenses in Perth. (another $200)

So I need more money!

Gemstone Personalities

Apparently, the gemstones you like can help identify some of your personal qualities and characteristics.

My favourite is amethyst, followed by pearl!~

Gemstone Personalities: Amethyst
If you have chosen the Amethyst as your personality, this means you are very spiritual and thoughtful. You are intuitive and sensitive. You have the ability to aid others ingetting in touch with their own faiths. You look for higher values, rather than practical things. Your complement stone is the Agate. Agates can help you back down to earth after an over abundance of intuitiveness.

Gemstone Personalities: Pearl
Pearl gemstone personalities are sensitive and feminine. You are supportive and securing - a Motherly type of person. Always the lady, you act, dress and speak properly at all times. Your compliment stone is Jade. Jade will help you become more assertive and practical when those times are needed.

One of my new colleagues mentioned Philippines is a very nice place to shop.

I wonder why?

Manila is the capital, when I think of it, I feel very excited.

Too bad I am not made of money, otherwise I would really want to travel round the world.

But for the nearby places, there is still horse riding, danga bay, and hmm..

Yea, time to bring my mum to movie.

Personality tests for you? bored?

Which fingers do you wear rings on?

Ring finger:
You are sensitive, romantic, and hope fervently to find a love that's heartwarming and everlasting.

What type of personality do you have?

Kind and Gentle
Your kindness is your charm - you are also gentle and sweet. Everybody likes to be around people with your personality. Like a psychologist, people like to talk to you to discuss their problems because you are proper and discrete, as well as confident. You look mature and people respect you. People with this kind of character are few and far between.

Personality test : Get to know yourself better

You can try it here for fun too.

Your view on yourself:
You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you meet that person.

The seriousness of your love:
You have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education:
You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
Success in your career is not the most important thing in life. You are content with what you have and think that being with someone you love is more than spending all of your precious time just working.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

How i spent my weekend

Fri
Kbox ktv from 7pm to 11pm. Now that I come to think of it, even though the rates are exorbitant, I am also saving up on my dinner which could come up to $10. So minus the dinner, I am paying $20+ for 4 hours. My fav food item there is the sashimi, which I can eat to my heart's content. On the bright side, it contains alot of proteins and EFAs!

Sat
Slacked at home. Watch some episodes of Boys over Flowers in the afternoon, I don't really fancy any of the male leads though. Not my cup of tea.

Bro came over in the evening, so the whole family went out to Crystal Jade for dinner at Causeway Point, then to Orchard Ion to walk around. The shops were all closed as it was already 10plus when we reached there, but like us, alot of people were walking around just to gawk at the decor.

We went into the ladies toilet on the basement. Out of the 17 cubicles inside, it just so happens that I walked into the one that has SHIT in it. I dunno if it's my sight or smell that registered first, but then they came together with a bang. Why bother to build such nice toilets when there are still uncivilized people who left their SHIT there just like a dog marks it's territory?

After Ion, we went over Mustafa Centre for a quick walk. I bought this interesting gadget which is a facial exfoilater but looks just like a gigantic toothbrush that is battery-operated. Been trying out in the shower...it feels like you are brushing your face.

Sun
Benny and I had an appt with Faith, our insurance agent for our half-yearly reviews. She seems to be quite through with him, but not so when it comes to me. That's becos they both know my eyes glazed over when she starts explaining to me..even though I tried to look like I understand and did the cursory nodding head action.

After that, we met up with Syl and Joa. Syl bought this kate spade bag that *gasp* costs $300+. And *gasp* it was originally priced at $700+. I cun fathom why a bag would be worth that amount of money, but then maybe I shd starting learning how to appreciate this kinda stuff.

Ate at Dian Xiao Er, one of my fav eating places. I think the roast duck there is pretty good. After that, we headed on to Gloria Jean for cakes bfore heading home.

Going for ktv with Benny and his colleagues later.
Kbox buffet, here I come (again).

Thank you for coming out with me today. For all the things you have done.
Thank you for everything that you made right.
Just as long as you are around.

Happy Birthday

I came in to office in the morning and discovered to my horror, I am actually slated for the afternoon shift. Oh SHIT..........................................................

So now I am supposed to work until 9pm cos my mgr is not giving me any leeway.
Shall I look on the positive side? Like finally having enough time to update my blog...

Today is a special day. My dad's birthday.

I still remember, but for how many years more?

I just went through my old blog posts the same time last year, and I guess, things does get easier the second time round. It doesn't get alot easier, but yes, I know there is a time to tear and a time to mend. Like now....

Happy birthday to you

shopping vouchers

Anyway I got some isetan vouchers from Keri and Syl, din really open them until one morning to work when I was planning to go shopping with Benny. Then I counted and the vouchers totalled $100..! I was quite shocked and even sms them to ask. Cos I din celebrate my birthday, so it seems like alot to me le. Keri even sms me to buy something good quality for myself and learn how to pamper myself occasionally. I was quite touched la..but tat day I din get to buy anything though. Cun bear to spend it hehe.

Something funny to mention, we passed by the big Louis Vuitton store at Ion tat evening, and he asked if I liked this brand.

I told him no. He was saying if I like it, he can buy for me. Like once in this lifetime haha.

Harry Patch, last veteran of World War I trenches, dies at 111

Posting this up. Lest We Forget.
Many people do.

LONDON (AFP) - - Harry Patch, the last soldier to fight in the trenches of Europe during World War I, died Saturday at the age of 111, drawing poignant tributes led by Queen Elizabeth II.

Patch fought at the notorious Battle of Passchendaele in 1917 -- where an estimated half a million troops perished.

He is listed by the dersdesders.free.fr website, regarded as an authoritative chronicle of veterans of the conflict, as the last World War I veteran to have served in the trenches.

"I was saddened to hear of the death this morning of Harry Patch," said Queen Elizabeth II.

"We will never forget the bravery and enormous sacrifice of his generation, which will continue to serve as an example to us all."

Nicknamed "The Last Tommy" by Britain's media, Patch was also Britain's oldest man following the death of fellow veteran Henry Allingham, at the time the oldest man in the world, one week ago.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown added: "The noblest of all the generations has left us, but they will never be forgotten.

"We say today with still greater force, we will remember them."

Brown said the sacrifices of the World War I generation would be commemorated in a special national service, likely to be held at Westminster Abbey in London.

"It's right that we as a nation have a national memorial service to remember the sacrifice and all the work that was done by those people who served our country during World War One and to remember what we owe to that generation -- our freedom, our liberties, the fact that we are a democracy," he said.

Claude Choules, 108, who lives in Perth, Australia and served with the Royal Navy, now becomes the last surviving veteran of the 1914-18 conflict from the British side.

Patch did not speak about his wartime experiences until he was aged 100 and was strongly opposed to violent conflict, calling war "organised murder".

"It was not worth it, it was not worth one let alone all the millions," he said of those who died.

"It's important that we remember the war dead on both sides of the line -- the Germans suffered the same as we did."

Last year, he travelled to Belgium to remember his fallen comrades and unveil a memorial.

Patch was conscripted into the British army at the age of 18 and served as a machine gunner with the 7th Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry.

He was 19 when he fought in the 1917 Battle of Passchendaele, also known as the Third Battle of Ypres.

That battle was one of the bloodiest in the conflict. One of the opposing German soldiers was an Austrian named Adolf Hitler.

After four months in the trenches, Patch was wounded by shrapnel and sent home to Britain, his war over.

General Richard Dannatt, the head of the British army, said: "We give thanks for his life -- as well as those of his comrades -- for upholding the same values and freedom that we continue to cherish and fight for today".

Following the war, Patch worked as a plumber until his retirement in 1961. During World War II, he worked as a fireman.

Patch married Ada Billington in 1919 and the couple were married for 58 years until her death. They had two sons, both of whom Patch outlived.

He married his second wife Jean in 1980 but she died in 1984.

Patch's care home, Fletcher House in Wells, southwest England, said he had died early Saturday. His friend Jim Ross added he was "surrounded by his many friends" when he passed away.

The funeral in Wells will focus on prayers for peace and reconciliation, the Ministry of Defence said.

Patch's biographer Richard Van Emden told BBC television that "he was just a lovely man, he had a sparkle and a twinkle about him.

"He was the last of that generation and the poignancy of that is almost overwhelming."

The dersdesders.free.fr website says there are now just three Great War veterans left alive -- Choules plus Frank Buckles, 108, of the United States and Canadian John Babcock, 109, who also lives in the US.

Neither Buckles nor Babcock saw active combat, it adds.

Work Plans

So far I have been in this company for more than half a year, that's a good start.

Because I used to be such a job-hopper, so the first priority I have is to stay on another half year and then see how things goes.

Whether to stay or look for another job. But I will say if a new job comes by, kudos to it.

I need more leave days than the pathetic amount given right now.

So far my sales has been quite consistent, so it's time to take it to another level which my mgr has been bugging me about everytime during my sales forecast.

So far my colleagues have been nice, just that I don't really know them so well.

Partly it's my fault, since I have a tendency to keep to myself and I involuntarily tense up when someone comes into my space.

Trying to change but it takes time since I have always been this way.

Clamming up is a way of protection, I am a Crabby after all.

Lastly, I super, super-hate micromanagement.

They are implementing a system where if you are even 1 sec late, $10 will be deducted from your pay.

And it starts tomorrow. Bloody Hell.

Not to mention other stuff we are not supposed to do because it will Affect your work performance.

I work hard when I work hard, and you should trust me if I would go and affect my own work performance.

I supposed it all boils down to trust and the company just don't trust us enough that we would give our best, therefore restricting us in certain areas.

Change of plans?

All too fast and its sunday again. Next time I wanna be a tai-tai k?

Syl is planning her birthday celebration on next Sun which clashes with my colleagues planned outing to Sentosa.

So it leaves me with a dilemma, so to speak.

Not a huge one though.

Long time friends are more important and much as I want to try hanging out with my colleagues, I can't really see myself playing beach volleyball in the sun. In a sheltered area, yes.

The sun, the sand, and the sand is not me le..but replace sun with moonlight..now that's a romantic notion to consider.

Slathering myself with sunblock, hiding from the glare of the sun behind an umbrella, hat and sunglasses vs sitting on the sand, bathing in the moonlight rays and singing my heart out to the sea..or singing a duet with someone else. Hehe.

Birthday Wishes

Tomorrow is my birthday. I won't be celebrating this year as it's too rushed and falls on a weekday. Just a simple dinner and a birthday cake with family. As for presents, I have decided to accept the handphone, its the most practical gift and what I need most for now. There is nothing much I want, somehow I just don't have it in me to desire for luxury goods. Mum says she has bought me a diamond pendant, which I think is a waste of money. I always prefer practical stuff which I can use rather than something to show off.

My birthday wishes:

  • Family in good health, mainly mum
  • Brother to have a fresh start in life and boundless luck
  • Sister to be more financially savvy and meet someone special
  • Salvage old friendships, I need time
  • Learn how to write poetry, still looking around for suitable workshops or courses
  • Learn how to play the flute

But ultimately, the best present is already by my side, which is something all the money in the world can't buy.

Back

I am back from Australia. Not to say that alot of people knew I went there in the first place as I didn't really announce to anyone. Will be updating details of my trip soon. What are my thoughts after coming back?

SIA SUCKS.
Security in Perth, Australia SUCKS.
The Australia car rental company AVIS, SUCKS.

That's entirely my humble opinion of course.

Plus the petty thief who took away our valuables and cash, I am sincerely wishing upon all the gruesome things that my mind can think of to happen to him.

New phone..yayyy

In the end I had the phone I was aiming for..SE C905. Bought it last Sat. The colour is quite sweet.

I took a contract plan under M1 so the phone costs only $298 compared to the $398 selling at Singtel and Starhub. After the payment was made, he offered to pay for the phone as a birthday present for me. While I appreciated the gesture, I thought it came a little too late since after the loss of my phone I have been planning to buy this model anyway and I was quite open about it..and only offering to pay for the phone after I bought it because he can't think of anything else to buy for my birthday present..it doesn't take any effort at all doesn't it. I thought I will reconsider and see how things goes. Because no matter how I see it, if he turns out paying for it I will forever remember that the reason is because he wants an easy way out.

Anyway I am swearing right here that if I ever lose this phone as well, I will get a $0 handphone for the rest of my life.

He went for a haircut at Reds Salon in Bugis and result was not bad I think. But unfortunately, he never managed to style it in a similar way after that.

Took some pics using my new phone with him as a guinea pig.

Also got him to do some different poses so I can take pictures of his new hairstyle and a new shirt.

My Friday

Took a cab to work this morning..the cab fare came up to $28.95...damm it. Just the ERP charge is already $6 lor. Sad. I should have spent tat money on clothes or something.

Luckily my dinner was a treat from someone special. We went this place called "The Mussels Place" at Vivocity. Ordered fish and chips, calamari and pan-seared dory fish. The food was worth a try, but weirdly enough, despite the name of the place most people are ordering other foods.

Took a short walk around, browsed through this huge bookstore and he bought a book. Next shop was Club Marc which was having a fantastic sale. Bought two bottoms for myself and two for my sister. I was only halfway through ransacking the shop when the shop closed. Too bad, game over.

Too tired..still have to go down to office for half a day tomorrow...with all earnestness, I am wishing for 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep..please let it materialize.......

Sembawang Shopping Centre Day

One of our recent dates at Sembawang Shopping Centre.
I am getting sick of Causeway Point. And this is a new shopping place just a short taxi ride from my hme.

Had lunch at Fish & Cole.
My lunch was a swordfish collar while his was fish and chips.
The swordfish collar was Huge..and I spent a long time on it as most of it is bone.
I would consider twice before ordering the dish again, not that it tastes bad or anything but just that it takes too much effort to debone it.

After lunch, we took a walk around, its a small and cosy mall. And on the 1st level there is Daiso, what a surprise!
I am filled with delight whenever I shopped in there, as there is so many useful and useless things that I never thought existed..and it makes me tempted just to buy them for the novelty. It's really amazing, I feel like a kid again.

One of the drinks I bought over there in excitement, a milk shake bottle can. I was fine with the drink until he commented it tastes like diluted condensed milk. Din have the mood to finish it after that...

Bought a bag at a pushcart for my niece, thought the design was quite cute. It's supposed to be imported from Korea, but the tag says made in China.

Bought a wallet at the same pushcart, sweet.
What I bought from Daiso..

One of the items was instant cupcake. Easy to make, tastes not bad but looks very ugly.
