An amusing news report - Secretary accidentally bites off boss' penis

Serves him right! Married still want to have affair la...orh bee good.

A SECRETARY accidentally bit off the penis of her employer while giving him oral sex in a car.

Sin Chew Daily and China Press reported yesterday that while the 30-year-old woman was performing oral sex on the man, the car was hit by a reversing van.

The impact of the crash, China Press reported, caused the woman to bite off her lover's organ.

The daily reported that the incident occurred in a Singapore park where the couple met after work.

To make matters worse for the woman, her husband had sent a private investigator to spy on her after suspecting that she was being unfaithful.

The investigator said he had followed the woman and her boss to the park.

'On reaching the park, they did not alight from the car. Not long after, the car started to shake violently.

After the car was hit by the van, there was a loud scream from the woman whose mouth was covered with blood,' he said.

The woman later followed her lover to the hospital with part of the sexual organ.

The investigator, who called an ambulance to send the man to hospital, said that this was the first time he had encountered such an incident.

What Is *Settling for Less?*

An interesting article i read on net. its kinda long but try to read it! quite useful whether or not you are in a relationship.

In a previous article, I suggested that attracting the kind of people you want to date starts with creating a vision of your ideal relationship -- what I called your --dating road map. This road map is a plan designed to help you describe, find and attract suitable candidates for the job of your life partner.

So let's say that you've been following your road map for awhile now. You're out there in the dating scene, meeting members of the opposite sex online and in person, making conscious decisions about who to date, and (hopefully) using the "One Minute Quiz for Evaluating a Potential Soulmate" as a guide.

And then you get to the third or fourth date with someone. That's when you start noticing how some aspects of your dating partner don't fit with the vision you have of your ideal mate. For many singles, confronting this "fork in the road," is a major dating dilemma. That's because taking an unanticipated turn onto an unknown road toward finding a life partner can be confusing and scary. This is the point when I've seen many singles quickly, and even carelessly, reject someone who could have made a suitable partner.

The challenge at this stage of dating is to look long and hard at the actual live person you're dating and determine what aspects of your ideal relationship vision are mandatory, and which are negotiable. Truthfully, I don't suggest that you do this on your own. It takes a coach or a mentor, an objective person whom you trust, to help you determine the pros and cons of the person you?re dating. Without help, you run the risk of listening to that little voice in your head saying, "Hey, break up with this person. S/he doesn't match up! You'll only be settling for less!"

I believe that "settling for less" inaccurately describes the experience of singles having to compromise some of the characteristics they seek in their ideal mate. To best explain the choices one faces when confronting a "fork in the road," here are a couple of examples:

George feels comfortable and happy when he is with Julia, and sees himself having a future with her, IF ONLY she would be more intellectually stimulating. George has a keen interest in current events and looks forward to reading the news every day. He has tried to interest Julia in discussing news and events with him, and while she is familiar with the world around her, it is not at the level that George would like. On the other hand, they share similar family backgrounds, outdoor interests and spiritual lifestyle goals. They have a good time together, can converse about a variety of subjects, and get along well. George also finds her attractive, but still wonders if he can marry a woman who does not stimulate him intellectually. On the other hand, he has yet to meet anyone else that he enjoys being with as much, overall.

I would suggest to George that he try and view Julia as the intelligent woman she truly is, despite not having as keen an interest in current events as he. I would encourage him to focus on their shared interests and goals, and to imagine Julia as a partner in life rather than solely as an intellectual cohort. I would, of course, remind him that not all people are perfect, yet they can and should be able to grow. I would strongly recommend that since he is attracted to her and enjoys her company, he may already have sufficient information with which to know that they can create a life together.

Anna has gone out with Michael for two months, having met him on an online dating website. She experienced him as nice and attentive, and came away from each date with the confirmation that he was a decent and honest man, with whom she shared similar spiritual and life goals. While she was able to visualize being married to him, she did not feel any excitement about him, or excitement about having a future with him. Anna wondered if it was reasonable to have a marriage that did not have much passion if Michael was, in fact, a nice and kind man. But she wasn't sure if her doubts about him were reason enough to break up either.

I see Anna's situation differently than George's. George is pretty clear and confident about who he is and what he needs; Anna isn't as in touch with her needs, which is the reason why she's confused about Michael. Anna believes that she should marry a man solely because he's kind, honest and decent. This reflects a lack of self-esteem on Anna's part, because if she believed she deserved passion and excitement in a relationship, then she would break up with Michael, no matter how nice and decent he was, and continue searching.

Negotiating a "fork in the road" essentially requires that you have sufficient knowledge about yourself and your needs. Having this knowledge will help you decide what turns to take -- should you disqualify someone because you know you need more than what s/he is capable of giving? Or, since you know that no one is perfect, should you be flexible?

George, in the example above, was challenged to see how his dating partner, Julia, met the majority of his needs for a life partner. This meant that he turn onto the road requiring him to be flexible. Once Anna (in the second example) realizes that she deserves to have passion and excitement in a relationship, she'll turn onto the road disqualifying Michael, which will eventually lead her closer to finding her life partner.

A map is filled with many opportunities to take turns onto other roads that can still get you to where you want to go. If you focus on what is missing in a relationship, then you may be setting yourself up to feel that you are settling for less. But if you choose instead to look at the bigger picture, to see your goal in the distance, and be flexible about turning onto some side roads along the way, you may get to your destination -- finding your life partner -- that much sooner.

a trip to holiday plaza, JB

i was at JB last sat to rebond my hair and do a pair of new specs. i got my hair done at 150ringgit, which was darn cheap and a pricing u cun get in spore. the previous time i rebonded my hair, it din last very long and i cun b bothered. i am not after the poker straight look, just trying to make my hair neater albeit natural since i do tie up my hair almost everyday which is a no-no for rebonded hair.

it took me two 2hrs plus and i was bored to death sitting on the chair, more so for benny who had to wait for me. he bought along a book to read but seems he fell asleep after a while. heck, i wanted to sleep myself.

after tat we went trying for specs and went to a few shops. got a real bargain for this white frame specs tat costs just $150. usually my specs costs at least $200= to 300+ as my degree is quite high, so the pricing goes towards paying for thinner lenses so i don't look so nerdy.

white specs is something new for me. he says it looks striking although i dunno if its in a good way. but anyway its free for me, so its his call. :p

gone, gone, gone, tats my $$$

i dropped my wallet at bishan junction mac last fri. i am so freaky right down pissed. both with myself and to whomever the sorry excuse of a human who took all my money inside, which was my entire commission last mth and which i just withdraw the night bfore. he/she left me penniless for this mth, but at least he/she had the tinest shred of decency or conscience to leave my wallet on the floor for the staff at mac to pick it up. tats y i can safely say its a human and not a beast.

at first when i was informed through phone tat mac had my wallet, i was filled with joy and relief. my sis went to pick it up as benny n i were heading on the way to jb. in the evening, my joy turned to shock when my sis sms him to say all my cash is missing. without skipping a beat, he added "hope the person go n d** lo, mayb by tomlo". wow, such poisonous words, even if the same thought did occur to me.

i am still terribly upset, i realli wanted to buy somethjing for myself, like a hp.

another baby in this world~!

i just opened my email at work half an ago and there was an email from from benny. which was not surprising considering we email each other everyday. but then the subject header was a major shocker.

sylvia has given birth this morning‏(!!!!!!)

he told me keri tried to call me but couldnt get through, so immed i called keri while having an urge to throw my hp in the rubbish bin. i had to bloody restart my hp again to get my sms from syl n keri, even though i restarted it this morning n no smses gotten in!! tats y benny always ask me to buy a new hp..cos wat if something happened to him n he couldnt get through. he n keri was right, i better get a new one and fast bcos its dragging too long!

oh wow. me, syl and keri were still planning to meet for dinner this evening at amk hub for a gals nite out. well nw, we are still having dinner, except it would be in a hospital. :)

tats exciting!

suppression

i know i am getting more temperamental of late. at this point of time, i shd be happy. which i am, sometimes. other times i am on the verge of tears and it seems as if an unseen fist is wrapping its hand around my heart and giving it a gentle squeeze. nothing too dramatic, but still rather unpleasant. i dun know wats wrong with me, or rather i do. had a long conversation with him over the phone just nw and he took time to reassure me. i know he is tryin his best, i realli do. it's my own self, my own expectations tat i need to change. i need to restraint myself and get over the withdrawal symptoms.

he is so sweet

he is so sweet. we were supposed to meet up tomorrow but i was asked in this evening if i wanted to do noon shift for tomorrow. so called him n told him abt it n he told me "do lo". was sad cos in tat case couldn't get to see him, wats more my library books are with him cos he helped me to go collect yesterday.

so anyway i was taking the mrt back hme and abt to reach admiratly, then remembered my sot sot phone confirmed no network, so i took it out n restarted the phone. then immed the phone rang n it was him, asking where i was and if i am hme yet. abit puzzled but continued a conversation with him...then i was asking him how come the background so noisy then he told me he watchin tv. hmmm...so once i reached admiralty, told him i call him back later as i got to go buy something to eat. as soon as i came out of the mrt station, i heard someone calling my name..and it's him! i was stunned...my brain freezed over. i couldn't think of any reason y he would be in admiralty for goodness sake and it's alry 10pm! know wat he told me? he say it's cos he wanted to give me my library books...isn't tat sweet? cos u n i both know tats not the real reason... :D

so he sent me up to my hse bfore going back. it's the sweetest thing in the world bcos i certainly din expect tat. i really have to get over my insecurities tats biting at me...i dun wan it to be a dream.

i dreamed a dream..from britain got talent

watched this video a few days back...cried the first two times i watched it..it says alot tat i am watching this video in the middle of the night..this little video gives us so many lessons...look at it n u know wat i mean..look at the expressions on the judge's and audience's faces..she showed them good alright!

her voice is so uplifting but the song is so sad..kept replayin this song over and over..is it the voice or the lyrics tat's getting to me? it reminds me of something..somehow..

so i am putting this up bcos:

1) love her voice!
2)love the song, the lyrics!

actually i like quite a few songs from musicals even though i have never watched a musical before...somehow the lyrics for the songs in musicals are so expressive..it just make my heart ache...are there really dreams that cannot be?

Susan Boyle - I Dreamed a Dream - Pipo

There was a time, when men were kind
And their voices were soft
And their words were inviting
There was a time, when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time it all went wrong

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untested

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame

He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
But there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

some little musings..

Why am I the only one suay enough to get bitten by sandflies while the rest of those having dinner are unharmed? I found the answer. .

gobygirl Posted on 22/07/04 14:19
The real trick to not having sandfly bites (and all other manners of biting and stinging insects) is not repellent, in my humble opinion. It is to bring a sacrifice - one person who attracts mossies, sandflies etc and VOILA! insects no more. This method is tried and tested and has proven to win hands down!

Just kidding.

sandflies, not mosquitoes

Soon after reporting for work this morning, I walked over to our company clinic that was nearby to see a docter for my bites. It kept me up all nite too because it was so itchy and painful and swollen. The docter thought it could be sandflies and gave me a med to take in the morning, another to take at nite, plus a cream to apply twice a day. Once the nurse passed me the medicine, I took it right on the spot. (ya..i was that desperate for the itch to stop)

Anyway, I googled up sandflies(i should know more about the enemy rite?) and this is what it says:

A sand flea bite is most likely to occur at dawn or in the evening and night time hours on the beach or other sandy areas that are near water. Wetlands, swamplands, creeks, and lakebeds are other areas where sand fleas can be found. Sand fleas generally stay close to their breeding ground. They never wander more than 350 feet or about 100 meters from their breeding area. Sand flea swarms produce a high-pitched wine. Therefore, if you are on the beach and you hear something like this, it is best to move or risk a sand flea bite.

The fleas will jump onto the feet, ankles, legs, and then bite. They are very persistent and quite annoying. Because of their small size, a sand flea bite occurs before individuals even know any sand fleas were in the area. Like a mosquito, a sand flea bites to suck blood. It is the female sand fly that bites. It does this in order to get the protein from the blood that is necessary for its egg laying. The sand flea bite involves the injection of saliva to thin the blood, making it easier for the flea to take blood from its victim. This same saliva triggers the body’s immune system to react.

Despite its size, the bite from a sand flea is quite painful. In fact, most of the time the bite is more painful than one from a typically larger mosquito. In addition to pain, the bite causes a large welt or rashes on the skin that can persist for several days. A fever may also occur. The welts or hives produced from bites are very itchy. Scratching the bitten areas should be avoided in order to prevent the development of an infection. Scratching will also prolong the symptoms of swelling, itch, and skin redness.

Sandflies bites are best avoided. It takes days or weeks to heal. The itchiness never go away and you scratch yourself until you bleed. They are often found near sea shores. It only take minutes and you won’t notice their bites until its too late.

Sandflies bites are intensely itchy and last for days. Bleeding and infection occurs when a person scratch non-stop.

Damn, that explains why it itches so much that I wanted to cry at times. It's terrible, I tell you. Scratching myself in my sleep until I woke up. .*sob* I am resigned to the fact that it might leave a mark, but well, it just go away in time.

itchy day

Went out for dinner with his family at Bottletree Park's open-air restarant to celebrate his mum's birthday. I got a good deal as they picked me up before heading there..hehe..the unfortunate thing is as it's an open-air restaurant, the mosquitoes were free to prey on me despite the fact that there were lighted mosquitoes repellant incense underneath the table.

The bites kept me up all nite as it's super itchy lo. I counted 15 bites, most of it on my legs and the swollen type. Bought mopiko or wu bi gao today to sooth my itches..today is a super itchy day. :(

friday updates

The whole dept is empty except for me. It's time for me to take leave..hehehe.

Activities coming up for me:

1)horse riding in kluang

2) treetop walk in MacRitchie

3) a nite out at Danga Bay

4) trying out wildrocket as recommended by Carrie (reviews seem pretty good)

Hmm..there seems to be some more thought that I missed out.

So what have I been up to? After the JC period was over for last mth, slacked big time in the office until I realised with panic that I might not be able to hit this mth's target. Been working hard and hit my target a few days back *phew*.

Something sad to update: a few days after I got my commision, it got deducted by my tiertary bank loan. So all my plans of buying a new hp and giving treats came to naught....starting over again.

back from a quick lunch

Just came back from lunch. The weather is so humid that my face is all flushed..i am melting away. I went for lunch alone because my colleagues had some work to do and after waiting for an hr, i am so hungry i abandoned them and went off by myself for a quick one. Went down to the north bridge road market which i just discovered its existence yesterday. I am actually the type of people that doesn't mind eating by myself, then i won't have to talk or feel obliged to in the case of awkward silence. I rather enjoy my own company much of the time.

Syl commented recently tat i have changed, thankfully its for the better. Maybe i have. Nw tat i have something in life to work forward to and a person who makes me want to do my best..hope it lasts.

Guess which is me?

exercising misadventures

Our exercise regime has so far been a mild disaster. This afternoon I met him up at Clementi, and we drove to West Coast Park with the intention of cycling for two hours. Turns out there was no bike rental shop EVEN THOUGH the west coast park site map dictates otherwise. I wonder how long has it not been updated? It's the 2nd time we made a wasted trip in 2 weeks, damn.

Then plan B was to go his house for gym and a swim. So we headed to my house to get my swimwear, and also to pass him the brochures and ferry timings for Bintan we are supposed to book for this sat. We went by the long way..bukit batok, then we PASS HIS HOUSE...after which it started to rain heavily, then at the juncture where we are supposed to turn into my area(woodlands ave 12), he missed it and we were on the road to Yishun. Of course the missed turn was attributed to me, cos I was talking to him. I wasn't in the best of moods while in the car because the rain was a real damper plus the fact we were sorta lost, but then he smiles and says as long as we are together. He is getting to be quite a sweet talker, but in my heart I wish for it to be true. In the end, we came back to my place tired and dizzy from the long ride. No more exercise, we had to rest. Stayed at my house for 1 hr plus then he had to go back and return the car.

And on wed, we went his house after work for gym. The plan was to exercise first before eating dinner. But I was too hungry and we ended up having dinner first, which made us so lazy to go gym after that. But we perservered! And then while I was putting on my sports shoes, I realised the sport shoes were of different sizes, albeit same designs. Turns out one of them belongs to my sister.

Even though the shoes were both for the right feet, he encouraged me to wear it because it should still be wearable rite? Yeah...I was already sceptical but still I tried it on even though when my left feet was squeezed into a sports shoe that was a size too small, I could feel my feet being uncomfortably and contorted unnaturally in the opposite direction. When I tried to take a step, it was a killer. I think it was lucky I didn't sprain anything, I really thought my left feet was a goner for a moment. In the end I lended his old sports shoes which were too big for me but alot more comfortable.

That's it for this entire week.

My plan of swimming yesterday was also squashed due to my sis flying me an aeroplane and by the time she "flew" the aeroplane, it was already about 7pm and I don't think its safe for me to swim alone in the dark considering I am far from a strong swimmer.

Got to met up with Carrie and her bf Lawrence instead at Causeway point for some bread, corn soup, milk tea etc. Lawrence was baptised yesterday and Carrie did invited me to go, but I decided not to in the end as there were too many people and I did not know what was expected. They shared with me their knowledge of buying flats, it's quite interesting and it be useful in time to come.

work

And so my colleague left on thursday. She left a handwritten note on my table which I only saw when I got back from my break. In short, she says its been a great pleasure to know me, hope I will achieve what I wanted to do. Stay in contact etc. She's a sweet gal, I'll miss her.

Now I am feeling down about going back to work tomorrow. Had a short nap just now and I had ugly nightmares....some about work. I am sure my manager is going to target me next.

a surprise visit

It's such a terrific surprise. There I am, just coming down from my office and about to cross the road. Then I heard a voice behind me utter my name. I turned back and it's him! I was so stunned....it's 9pm at nite and I was just reaching into my bag to look for my handphone and give him a call. And there he was, right in front of me. He was actually waiting downstairs for me, oh gosh!

Ten minutes later as we were reaching the mrt station hand-in-hand, I was still shell-shocked. It's extremely sweet, because we are supposed to be meeting tomorrow anyway and he has to wake up early in the morning. I really didn't expect that...although I did secretly hoped for it haha. So he send me back to my doorstep and took a cab back. I truly, deeply appreciate it... :)

This little gesture touches my heart.

alighting at the wrong station

I did the stupiest, brainless thing today. I alighted at Bugis Mrt when i am supposed to be alighting at Lavender Mrt for work. (which is nearer) When I realized, its too late and the train doors have closed. So what is the next best plan when the next train is too long a wait for me to arrive to work? I walked from Bugis to my workplace lo. I walked very, very fast in my heels. I can't even remember the last time I give my legs such a good workout haha. Still cooling down phew.

free tissues

Yesterday while I was eating lunch at Army market, the old lady selling tissues came over and handed me 3 packets of tissues. Thinking she was asking me to buy, I forked out the money. But turns out she was giving it to me free of charge as a gesture of thanks for an ang pow that I have given to her during Chinese New Year. It kinda lighted up my lunch hour, but it's sad because we can only do so much..random acts of kindness can't deny the fact she has no family of her own.

Chinese New Year is a period where people with familes look forward to getting together with relatives and families, but for some they have none.

another colleague leaving

My colleage who came in the same day as me has resigned. Since I started work in this company, she is already the 4th person to leave my department. It's an upsetting piece of news, I feel like I am being left alone.

we can predict the weather

When I wanted to go for cycling at West Coast Park, I should have checked the weather forecast.

Now, why didn't I think of that?

Better luck next time.

How i spent my sunday

Today was supposed to be the start of our exercise regime, a 2-hr cycle at West Coast Park. And halfway through the journey to West Coast Park, it started raining! So it turned out instead to be just a day of walking around, at first to West Coast Plaza(which is really small but full of eating places), then to Jurong Point and finally to Chua Chu Kang Lot One. We caught the movie "he is just not that into you". The movie itself was ok, but I felt it was kind of draggy. Or maybe it's just that the cinema seats was really uncomfortable. After the show, we swear never to watch a movie there again. We are planning to hit the gym at his place this wed, hopefully there is enough energy.

After A While

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises

And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open

With the grace of a woman, Not the grief of a child

And you learn to build all your roads on today,
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After awhile you learn that even sunshine
Burns if you get too much

So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
In stead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers

And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth,
and you learn and learn...
With every good bye you learn.

A touching story

I was then an only child who had everything I could ever want. But even a pretty, spoiled and rich kid could get lonely once in a while so when Mom told me that she was pregnant, I was ecstatic. I imagined how wonderful you would be and how we'd always be together and how much you would look like me. So, when you were born, I looked at your tiny hands and feet and marveled at how beautiful you were.

We took you home and I showed you proudly to my friends. They would touch you and sometimes pinch you, but you never reacted. When you were five months old, some things began to bother Mom. You seemed so unmoving and numb, and your cry sounded odd --- almost like a kitten's. So we brought you to many doctors.

The thirteenth doctor who looked at you quietly said you have the "cry du chat" (pronounced Kree-do-sha) syndrome, "cry of the cat" in French.

When I asked what that meant, he looked at me with pity and softly said, "Your brother will never walk nor talk." The doctor told us that it is a condition that afflicts one in 50,000 babies, rendering victims severely retarded. Mom was shocked and I was furious. I thought it was unfair.

When we went home, Mom took you in her arms and cried. I looked at you and realized that word will get around that you're not normal. So to hold on to my popularity, I did the unthinkable ... I disowned you. Mom and Dad didn't know but I steeled myself not to love you as you grew. Mom and Dad showered you love and attention and that made me bitter. And as the years passed, that bitterness turned to anger, and then hate.

Mom never gave up on you. She knew she had to do it for your sake.

Everytime she put your toys down, you'd roll instead of crawl. I watched her heart break every time she took away your toys and strapped your tummy with foam so you couldn't roll. You struggle and you're cry in that pitiful way, the cry of the kitten. But she still didn't give up.

And then one day, you defied what all your doctors said -- you crawled.

When mom saw this, she knew you would eventually walk. So when you were still crawling at age four, she'd put you on the grass with only your diapers on knowing that you hate the feel of the grass on your skin.

Then she'd leave you there. I would sometimes watch from the windows and smile at your discomfort. You would crawl to the sidewalk and Mom would put you back. Again and again, Mom repeated this on the lawn. Until one day, Mom saw you pull yourself up and toddle off the grass as fast as your little legs could carry you.

Laughing and crying, she shouted for Dad and I to come. Dad hugged you crying openly.

I watched from my bedroom window this heartbreaking scene.

Over the years, Mom taught you to speak, read and write. From then on, I would sometime see you walk outside, smell the flowers, marvel at the birds, or just smile at no one. I began to see the beauty of the world through your eyes. It was then that I realized that you were my brother and no matter how much I tried to hate you, I couldn't, because I had grown to love you.

During the next few days, we again became acquainted with each other. I would buy you toys and give you all the love that a sister could ever give to her brother. And you would reward me by smiling and hugging me.

But I guess, you were never really meant for us. On your tenth birthday, you felt severe headaches. The doctor's diagnosis --leukemia. Mom gasped and Dad held her, while I fought hard to keep my tears from falling. At that moment, I loved you all the more. I couldn't even bear to leave your side. Then the doctors told us that your only hope is to have a bonemarrow transplant. You became the subject of a nationwide donor search. When at last we found the right match, you were too sick, and the doctor reluctantly ruled out the operations. Since then, you underwent chemotherapy and radiation.

Even at the end, you continued to pursue life. Just a month before you died, you made me draw up a list of things you wanted to do when you got out of the hospital. Two days after the list was completed, you asked the doctors to send you home. There, we ate ice cream and cake, run across the grass, flew kites, went fishing, took pictures of one another and let the balloons fly. I remember the last conversation that we had. You said that if you die, and if I need of help, I could send you a note to heaven by tying it on the string of any balloon and letting it fly. When you said this, I started crying. Then you hugged me. Then again, for the last time, you got sick.

That last night, you asked for water, a back rub, a cuddle. Finally, you went into seizure with tears streaming down your face. Later, at the hospital, you struggled to talk but the words wouldn't come. I know what you wanted to say. "Hear you," I whispered. And for the last time, I said, "I'll always love and I will never forget you. Don't be afraid. You'll soon be with God in heaven." Then, with my tears flowing freely, I watched the bravest boy I had ever known finally stop breathing. Dad, Mom and I cried until I felt as if there were no more tears left. Patrick was finally gone, leaving us behind.

From then on, you were my source of inspiration. You showed me how to love life and live to the fullest. With your simplicity and honesty, you showed me a world full of love and caring. And you made me realize that the most important thing in this life is to continue loving without asking why or how and without setting any limit.

Thank you, my little brother, for all these.

Acceptance

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me.

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know," the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide.

The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.

Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us.

What Goes Around Comes Around

He almost didn't see the old lady stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.
Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe. He looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill only fear can put in you.

He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But, he had to get dirty, and his hands hurt.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "And think of me."

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then, she remembered Bryan.

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a one hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her one hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you."

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it?

With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard...

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's gonna be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."

Abortion

Month One
Mommy,
I am only 8 inches long,
but I have all my organs.
I love the sound of your voice.
Every time I hear it,
I wave my arms and legs.
The sound of your heart beat
is my favorite lullaby.

Month Two
Mommy,
today I learned how to suck my thumb.
If you could see me,
you could definitely tell that I am a baby.
I'm not big enough to survive outside my home though.
It is so nice and warm in here.

Month Three
You know what Mommy?
I'm a girl!!
I hope that makes you happy.
I want you to always be happy.
I don't like it when you cry.
You sound so sad.
It makes me sad too,
and I cry with you even though
you can't hear me.

Month Four
Mommy,
my hair is starting to grow.
It is very short and fine,
but I will have a lot of it.
I spend a lot of my time exercising.
I can turn my head and curl my fingers and toes
and stretch my arms and legs.
I am becoming quite good at it too.

Month Five
You went to the doctor today.
Mommy, he lied to you.
He said that I'm not a baby.
I am a baby Mommy, your baby.
I think and feel.
Mommy, what's abortion?

Month Six
I can hear that doctor again.
I don't like him.
He seems cold and heartless.
Something is intruding in my home.
The doctor called it a needle.
Mommy, what is it? It burns!
Please make him stop!
I can't get away from it!
Mommy! HELP me!

Month Seven
Mommy,
I am okay.
I am in Jesus's arms.
He is holding me.
He told me about abortion.
Why didn't you want me Mommy?

clearing emails away

I am trying to clear the emails in my hotmail acct. Have gotten countless comments from people who unwittingly looked at my inbox and exclaimed, "so many emails! do u ever clear ur inbox?"

The answer is no. My emails date as far back as 5 years ago. So I shall try to clear abit. From 12,000+ emails down to 11,000 emails today, I should be able to whittle down to the ones that I can keep by the end of this mth. That gives me something to do.

closure of ex-company

I just got to know yesterday from one of my ex-colleague Karen that the previous company I had worked for had closed down the day before Chinese New Year. What's worse, the pay for the staff pay was cut 50% in dec. Then Jan no pay...That's shocking..and then today I found out that not only did the local branch closed down, the china headquarters closed down as well. That's very sad. I hope the people working there are able to find a job. It's just...sad. (ya i know i keeo repeating) Seeing your ex-company come to this end. :(

sleepless

At this time of the nite, I am eating apples. This is as a last resort cos my mum tells me it helps in lessening my giddiness and nausea. After tossing and turning in bed uncomfortably for more than an hour plus, I had finally gotten up to search through the kitchen cabinet for some medication. Alas there wasn't any suitable ones. Apples are the next best thing, so my mum says. I don't know what's wrong with me.

On Mc today

I am on MC today. Was considering last nite if I should go to work, but I decided not to in the end as I have cleared most of my stuff. Maybe because of a one day absence my sales will be abit affected and I will lag behind..but I think I have done well this month, I don't intend to aim for the sky and stress myself up.

Last nite before I left the office, I took some toilet paper from the office having used up my few packets of tissue. My running nose was bad and I had to constantly blow my nose.

Midway through the ride, the seat I was standing in front of got vacant and I was about to sit when this middle-aged guy a metre away deftly cut in front of me and sat on the empty seat. Surprise turned to exasperation when I noticed his black hair and his not-so-old face. In the end I stood all the way from Lavender to Admiralty clutching my disgustingly tattered wads of toilet-paper.

But I made sure I blew my nose loudly in front of him all the way..maybe some tiny pieces of toilet paper did flew down and landed on his lap, hopefully.

the rain that came out of nowhere

I was drenched in the rain while walking to work this afternoon. The rain came without warning. One moment it was sunny and I was still thinking of getting an ice-cream from Mr Bean. Then just five mins later, it was raining cats and dogs. I had nowhere to hide as there was no shelter....I supposed I have to be grateful I wasn't holding a half eaten ice-cream in the rain...It would have looked rather stupid.

Feeling abit miserable though cos I ended up with a running nose, a cold and headache.

random little piece

It's been a long week, and I am tired from all the long working hours. Thankfully he is there to keep me going on. I am lucky. I don't feel very good now though..I think I am a good person, but maybe I am just a bad person trying to make up for the wrongs I did. There is alot of guilt, and inside my mind is a can full of worms. I am just sorry for not being protective enough of the things that I cared about once before.

Chinese New Year

&*#%#$$...my com hang while i was doing this entry..rewriting again so have to shorten it.

As the usual, every year my family would head over to JB to eat the reunion dinner. For the past few years, we have been eating at this restaurant that had a stage performance during dinner. For entertainment so as to speak.

I think....I have had enough. I can vaguely rememember that last year we seem to have a lion dance perfomance last year. Which was fine because despite all the diang la chiang chiang performances, there is something that signifies the coming of Chinese New Year.

This year was bad..bad singing, bad outfits, bad performances. I hope we will shift to another place next year.

After the reunion dinner ended, we headed to my aunt's place. We were outside the house looking at the fireworks when a cockroach flew past and hit my leg. Imagine that, those who know me shd know I am terrified of cockroaches. Anyway I screamed and as it landed on the ground, my ten-year old cousin Nicole stepped on it and that's it. bye bye cockroach.

She then started telling me off for crushing her wrist so tightly that it had left a mark. What to do? I was terrified ma, I din even realised I was grabbing on to her.

Then my 9-year old cousin Natalie took up the dead cockroach by it's feelers and proceeded to show it to me.

Natalie: See, YuanQi Jie Jie!

Me: AHHHH!!!! Don't come near me!

Aunt: Natalie, go wash your hands, the cockroach is dirty.

Natalie: orh. (drop the cockroach)

I am amazed at how how brave my cousins are.

Since I have been asked so many times why I am terrified of cockroaches, I shall start from the beginning. Once upon a time when I was pretty young, I do remembered chasing cockroaches that were scuttling around the floor and trying to whack them with a rolled-up newspaper. Think I was probably imitating my mum, and you know how kids have no idea of fear.

So anyway, there was one night I was brushing my teeth in the second floor bathroom of my house when I felt something crawling up my thigh. So I looked down and this cockroach was right there looking up at me. I closed my eyes tightly and screamed. I didn't even attempt to move, just stood at the same spot screaming my lungs off.

The next thing I knew, my bro was shaking me by the shoulders(he had ran up from the first level). I looked down and the cockroach was gone. I think I scared it away. (surprise!~) But if my memory doesn't fail me, that was the day I started being terrified of cockroaches, dead or alive. Believe me, a cockroach making it's way leisurely up your leg without asking for permission is something that changes your life in a bad way.

Okie, back to my topic. After midnight, as per the common practice, they started gambling poker. Being a non-gambler, I retired early to my bro's place which was a stone's throw away. (cos if u really throw a stone from my aunt's place, it would most likely hit my bro's front gate.)

The next day was spent at JB walking around the shopping centres and waiting for my brother to knock off work so we can have dinner together. I pushed the boundaries of bad fashion by roaming around in a big yellow tee that I loaned from brother, lime-green 3-quarters that my sis wore last nite to sleep, my pair of hot pink flats and a deep red bag. In case you think its out of my free-will, the truth was I actually forgotten to bring enough clothes which is why I was reduced to such a shocking state.

But hey, at least its bright enough! :)

2nd day of Chinese New Year was spent going to his place to bai nian, followed by my place, and lastly to my auntie's house. It's a rather eventful day and time well spent with loads of chit-chat. After that, I haven't been to any place to bai nian since then...sigh. No time cos my family is always out these few days.

And next week my work will be keeping me very very busy. I will be at National JC for these two weeks and tomorrow I have to be there at 6.30am and leave office at 9.30pm. And the rest of the week will be similar hours. Just the thought of it makes me very, very blue. It's supposed to be a month where we are supposed to earn more, but c'mon, if I was paid OT, I'll probably bring back the same amount. Sickening.

exercising is no use at all

I been trying to swim at least once a week as a physical activity. Mostly it's just once haha. Although I have all the well intentions of swimming during the weekday, but so far it's been all talk and no action.

I shall start! (soon) Now that I have a new pair of hot pink plastic flats that I can wear to work and swimming. And I realised...hot pink looks nice on me. So I went on to buy a pair of hot pink heels. And then to complement the two pairs of new shoes, I bought a pink bag with anime graphics that looks kinda childish. But the design perks me up la!

So now that I am making an effort to exercise, the next step for me to do is to cut down on my food intake. Because Exercising abit + eat Eat EAT = Fatter

My appetite has become voracious recently..I am not eating food anymore, I am devouring them. And its steadily gaining momemtum. I'll give a hint, the happier i am, the more I eat.

SHIT.

inside your head

When does one start to write poetry?
Its when someone you love inspires you so much that feelings turn to poetry.
Right there, inside your head.
That's true love calling.

costume shop

Passed by this costume shop at lavender while with my colleages for my break. We went in to take a look as its still early, and i was already quite curious about what was inside as I passed by this shop a few times before.

Now i realised you can't judge a book by its cover. It seems just like a normal shop house in front, but its FREAKING HUGE on the inside!!! I was gasping at the rows and rows and rows*10 of costumes, hats, hairpieces etc.

Costumes there include gingerbread man(so cute!)and maid(kinky), and we saw a guy coming out of the changing room dressed as Harry Potter(ahahah) complete with specs and wig.

Me thinks it be fun to do a costume party somewhere in the future. :D

quiet office for this week

It's a quiet day at the office today. My whole department is now in china attending the TIME conference, so it's only me and my new colleage left(yipee!). They only be back on this friday hehe. Much as I want to say that I be slacking big-time, but I still have my own things to do.. :)

Kudos to the start of a great week!

The story of Happiness

Someone dear sent this to me. It speaks to me and strikes a cord within me. For happiness IS what we make out of it.

Once upon a time, there lived a kind hearted man.
After he died, he ascend into the heavens and became an angel.
After becoming an angel, he often comes down to earth and help those to attain happiness.

Once, he met a farmer who was sulking.
He told the angel that his bull just died and he couldn't plough the fields.

The angel gave the farmer a healthy bull.
The farmer was very happy and the angel could feel his happiness.

Another time, he met a young man who was despondent.
He told the angel that he was robbed of his money and couldn't travel to his hometown.
The angel gave him some money.
The young man was very happy and the angel could feel his happiness.

This time, the angel met a poet.
He was young, handsome and full of talent.
He was also rich.
His wife was pretty and gentle.
But he declared he wasn't happy.

The angel asked, "You aren't happy. How can I help you?"

The poet replied, "I have everything. But I lack only one thing. Can you give it to me?"

To which the angel happily said, "Sure. I can give you anything you desired."

The poet stared right into the angel's eyes, "I want happiness."

"All right," the angel nodded.
And the angel proceed to take away everything the poet possessed.

The angel took away the poet's talent, destroyed his looks, robbed his riches and killed his wife.
The angel then left for heaven.

A month later, the angel appeared in front of the poet.
The poet was lying on the ground, half dead, hungry and struggling for survival.

The angel then returned him everything he once possessed and left for heaven again.

Two weeks later, the angel paid a visit to the poet.
This time, the poet, together with his wife, thanked the angel profusely.
He finally found happiness.

~~Often, a person need to lose everything before he know how to cherish.
Actually, happiness is right in front of you.

Just what is happiness?
When you are hungry, a bowl of hot noodle in front of you is happiness.
When you are tired, a soft bed is happiness.
When you are crying, a gentle tissue is happiness.

Actually, happiness has no definition. Sometimes, small actions can touch your heart. Happiness or not, depends on how you look at it.

Trust

Something I wrote for a literature class when I was studying in poly. It's for some sort of self-expression if I remember...

Strewn on the ground
Pieces of shattered glass
I picked them up
piece by piece

Tried to glue them together
But why wouldn't they stay glued?
Why do they fall apart still?

I tried again and again
to mend those broken pieces
Slowly, slowly, it was done

I looked through the glass
and saw the cracks
The cracks would never go away

New Year Resolutions

happy new year everyone. haven't been updating my blog as i need some time off for self-reflection. just a quick one to update my new year resolutions. i dun have the habit of making them, but its always interesting to see how much further u end up away from it at the end of the year.

therefore, my resolutions:

1) to be more emotionally stable
2) to be more financially stable
3) take up more physical activity besides shopping
4) to worry less

this is just a brief outline, will touch up on it again. above all, i wish for normalcy.
