Food-ies day

Date: 24 Oct 08

Time of meet-up:10.45am
End of meet-up: 2am

Mission: to try out some of the hawker foods reviewed and raved before.

Places visited: Maxwell Market, Hong Lim Food Centre, Suntec City, 7th Heaven(Raeburn Park), Bugis food street.

Was supposed to meet at 10.30am but I was late. Luckily when we reached Maxwell Market, there was not much of a crowd and we were able to order the food relatively fast.

From Tian Tian chicken rice store. The chicken taste like chicken lo..I cun differentiate one chicken frm another. I like the rice, its very fragrant. In fact thats my fav part of the chicken rice. The Rice.
Another store supposedly famous for it's fish soup. The soup was quite nice. It was gone very fast bcos we just ordered it without any rice or beehoon.

We had fun walking to Hong Lim Food Centre and behaving like tourists.

Just in time for lunch. Ordered two dishes only even though i was originally planning to order another three more. But our stomaches cannot store so many things.

Had a chat with the drinks aunties who were just bside my table while he was ordering. Told them wat we were planning to order and they seconded it.

The wantan mee came after a 25min wait in queue. It was recently voted as the "number 1" wantan mee in spore. Discounting the hype, it was surprisingly good. The noodles were springy and bouncy, with generous ingredients.

I find the clayfish hor fun ok only...it's basically just hor fun with crayfish ma...is tat the reason y people are queuing up for it? But the hor fun does have the distintive taste of crayfish.

Went to Suntec to shop for a while...spent some time playing at the arcade. He won this toy, but of course its mine. Haha.

We played Daytona and I won! Was so happy that I gave a whoop and raise both my arms in the air, leading to a group of people standing nearby staring at me.

Next we proceeded to 7th Heaven, its situated at quite an ulu place near outram mrt. When we got there, there was no customers inside so we virtually had the whole place to ourselves.

Ordered two sets of one ice-cream flavour and chocolate cake. Decided on whisky and chocolate, and chocolate ice with coffee chips. The ice-cream over there is chockful of flavour, unlike some diluted versions. I loved the chocolate cake, too bad its such a small portion.

After tat, went over to bugis for dinner with his frens. Had korean food over at the food street opposite Bugis Junction.

The food was not bad, dun mind going there again....just tat I can't remember the name of the restaurant.
